Sing, sing, sing the song they sang with us
when they sailed away
Bring, bring, bring them back again to these
lonely shores one day

We'll be here awaiting their arrival
How that moment's gonna shine
May they ring then, in our hearts
The jubilant bells of "Auld Lang Syne"

Sing, sing, sing the song of sirens
if that is what it takes
Bring, bring, bring them back again to each
lonely heart that aches

I'll be first to know of your arrival
I'll love to pour the wine
May they ring then, in our hearts
The jubilant bells of "Auld Lang Syne"

I'll be first to know of your arrival
I'll be first to pour the wine
May they ring then, in our hearts
The jubilant bells of "Auld Lang Syne"

Sing, sing, sing a song of sadness
that they are so long gone
Bring, bring, bring a ray of hope
and the courage to go on

We'll be here awaiting their arrival
How that moment's gonna shine
May they ring then, in our hearts
The jubilant bells of "Auld Lang Syne"

We'll be here awaiting their arrival
How that moment's gonna shine
May they ring then, in our hearts

Colder Than Winter

Written by Vince Gill

From Amazon.co.uk

from Amazon.com

It's colder than winter
Right here in my heart
Yes, I'm going to miss him
He's torn me apart

Couldn't make you love me
Couldn't give you any more
It's colder than winter
Since you closed the door

Every time the sun sets
I shed another tear
And the lonelier [that] I get
Wishing you were still here

It's colder than winter
I'm freezing inside
My tears won't be bitter
Even though our love died

Couldn't make you love me
I couldn't give you any more
It's colder than winter
Since you closed the door

Couldn't make you love me
I couldn't give you any more
Now it's colder than winter
Since you closed the door

It's colder than winter
Since you closed the door

Ave Maria
with Fernando Lima

Written by: Loris Ceroni & Jorge Avendano Luirs

Las manos de una madre
La sonrisa de nińos
Y el amor
Rompen las fronteras que separan
Credos, razas y color
Porque nuestro mundo encuentre paz
Y por los que no han nacido ...

Ave María, Ave María
Gratia plena Madre Sancta
Gratia plena, oohh!
Oh Madre Sancta

Ave María, Ave María
Porque el milagro
Es la magia del amor
Que nos une ...

A pesar de toda la violencia
La tristeza y el dolor
Después de que termina la tormenta
Para todos brilla el sol
Para recordarnos que el amor
Es capaz de lo imposible

Ave María, Ave María
Gratia plena Madre Sancta
Gratia plena, oohh!
Oh Madre Sancta

Ave María, Ave María
Porque la esperanza
Sea la luz del corazón
Para siempre, oohh!

Ave María ...
Porque el milagro
Es la magia del amor
Gratia plena ... (gratia Madre)
Ave María

A mother's hands
Children laughter
And love
Break the barriers that separate
Creed, race and color
That our world may find peace
And for those not yet born...

Ave Maria, Ave Maria
Full of grace Holy Mother
Full of grace, oohh!
Oh Holy Mother

Ave Maria, Ave Maria
For the miracle
Is the magic of love
That unites us

Despite of all the violence
The sorrow and the pain
After the storm is over
The sun shines for everyone
To remind us that love
Can even do the impossible

Ave Maria, Ave Maria
Full of grace Holy Mother
Full of grace, oohh!
Oh Holy Mother

Ave Maria, Ave Maria
That hope
May be the heart's light
Forever, oohh

Ave Maria ...
For the miracle
Is the magic of love
Full of grace ... (grace Mother)
Ave Maria

Silent Night

Written by: traditional; adapted by Frank Peterson / Carsten Heusmann

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant, so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from Heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia
Christ the Saviour is born
Christ the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant, so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

In The Bleak Midwinter

Written by: traditional; Christina Rosetti , Gustav Holst adapted by Frank Peterson / Carsten Heusmann

Although written by Christina Rossetti before 1872, it was published posthumously in Rossetti's Poetic Works in 1904 and became a Christmas carol after it appeared in The English Hymnal in 1906 with a setting by Holst.

Sarah first recorded this song in 1988, a better version in my opinion and it's available on Save The Children and Christmas Spectacular CDs.

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone
Snow had fallen, snow on snow
Snow on snow, in the bleak midwinter, long ago

Our God, heaven cannot hold Him
Nor earth sustain
Heaven and earth shall flee away
When He comes to reign

In the bleak midwinter, a stable place sufficed
The Lord God almighty, Jesus Christ

Angels and archangels may have gathered there
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air
But His mother only in her maiden bliss
Worshiped the Beloved with a kiss

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part
Yet what I can I give Him - give my heart

I've Been This way Before

Written by:  Neil Diamond

From Amazon.co.uk

from Amazon.com

I've seen the light
And I've seen the flame
And I've been this way before
And I'm sure to be this way again

For I've been refused
And I've been regained
And I've seen your eyes before
And I'm sure to see your eyes again
Once again

For I've been released
And I've been regained
And I've sung my song before
And I'm sure to sing my song again
Once again

Some people got to laugh
Some people got to sigh
Some people got to make it through
By never wondering why

Some people got to sing
Some people got to sigh
Some people never see the light
Until the day they die

But I've been released
And I've been regained
And I've been this way before
And I'm sure to be this way before
Once again

One more time again
Just one more time

Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring

Written by: Johann Sebastian Bach, traditional; arr. Carsten Heusmann / Frank Peterson

Jesu, joy of man's desiring
Holy wisdom, love most bright

Drawn by Thee, our souls, aspiring
Soar to uncreated light

Word of God, our flesh that fashion'd
With the fire of life impassion'd

Striving still for truth unknown
Soaring, dying, 'round Thy throne

Child in a Manger

written by: traditional; adapted by Frank Peterson / Carsten Heusmann

The tune of this hymn is better known to many as Morning Has Broken made famous by Cat Stevens in the 1970s.

The hymn originates in Scotland and started out in Gaelic. Mary Macdonald (1789-1872); translated from Gaelic to English by Lachlan Macbean in Songs and Hymns of the Gael (Edinburgh, Scotland: 1888). according to this website - http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/c/h/childman.htm

Child in a manger
Infant of Mary
Outcast and stranger
Lord of us all
Child who inherits
All our transgressions
All our demerits upon Him fall

Once the most holy
Child of salvation
Gently and lowly
Lived here below
Now as our glorious mighty Redeemer
See Him victorious
O'er each foe

Prophets foretold Him
Infant of wonder
Angels behold Him on His throne
Worthy our Saviour
Of all our praises

Happy forever are His own
Happy forever are His own

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

Written by: Roy Wood

Originally performed by Wizard - and 1970s Glam Rock group.

From Amazon.co.uk

from Amazon.com

When the snowman brings the snow
Well, he just might like to know
He's put a great big smile on somebody's face
If you jump into your bed
Quickly cover up your head
Don't you lock the doors
You know that sweet Santa Claus in on the way

Well, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
Oh, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
So let the bells ring out for Christmas

When you're skating in the park
If the snow cloud makes it dark
Then your rosy cheeks gonna light my merry way
Now the frosty paws appear
And they've frozen up my ear
So we'll lie by the fire
'Til the sleet simply knocks them all away

Well, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
Oh, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
So let the bells ring out for Christmas

When the snowman brings the snow (snowman brings the snow)
Well, he just might like to know (just might like to know)
He's put a great big smile on somebody's face
So if Santa brings that sleigh (Santa brings that sleigh)
Along the Milky Way (along the Milky Way)
I'll sign my name on the rooftop in the snow
Then he may decide to stay

Well, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
Oh, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
So let the bells ring out for Christmas

Well, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
When the kids start singing and the band begins to play
Oh, I wish it could be Christmas everyday
So let the bells ring out for Christmas

Why don't you give your love for Christmas
When the snowman brings the snow     (8 times; fade-out)

Amazing Grace

Written by: traditional; adapted by Frank Peterson / Carsten Heusmann

Amazing Grace is a well-known Christian hymn by Englishman John Newton and first appeared in print in Newton's Olney Hymns (1779).

Amazing Grace is often played on the Scottish Bagpipes, as it gives the song a very haunting quality.

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I'm found
Was blind
But now I see

The earth shall soon
Dissolve like snow
The sun forget to shine
But God, who brought me here below
Will be forever mine

Through Him many dangers,
Toils and snares
I have already come
It was grace that brought me here thus far
And grace will lead me home

Ave Maria (Gounod)

written by: Bach / Gounod; arr. Frank Peterson

Ave Maria
Gratia plena
Dominus tecum
Benedicta tu in mulieribus
Et benedictus fructus
Ventris tui, Jesus
Santa Maria, Santa Maria
Maria, ora pro nobis
Nobis pecatoribus
Nune et in ora
Mortis nostrae
Amen ...

Hail Maria
Full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit
Of thy womb, Jesus
Holy Maria, Holy Maria
Maria, pray for us
Us sinners
Nou and in the hour
Of our death
Amen ...

I Believe In Father Christmas

Written by: Greg Lake / Sergey Prokofjev / Peter John Sinfield

I Believe In Father Christmas is a song by Greg Lake (most famously a member of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer). Although it is often categorised as a Christmas song this was not Lake's intention. Lake wrote the song in protest at the commercialisation of Christmas.

The song is often misinterpreted as an anti-religious song and, because of this, Lake was surprised at its success. He said in a Mojo magazine interview: "I find it appalling when people say it's politically incorrect to talk about Christmas, you've got to talk about 'The Holiday Season.' Christmas was a time of family warmth and love. There was a feeling of forgiveness, acceptance. And I do believe in Father Christmas."

The instrumental riff between verses comes from the "Troika" portion of Sergei Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije Suite written for a 1934 Soviet film, Poruchik Kizhe.

They said there'll be snow at Christmas
They said there'll be peace on Earth
Instead it just kept on raining
With tears for the Virgin's birth
I remember one Christmas morning
A winter's light and a distant choir
And the peal of a bell and that Christmas tree smell
Their eyes full of tinsel and fire

They sold me a dream of Christmas
They sold me a Silent Night
They told me a fairy story
'Til I believed in the Israelite
And I believed in Father Christmas
I looked at the sky with excited eyes
'Til I woke with a yawn
In the first light of dawn
And I saw him and through his disguise

I wish you a hopeful Christmas
I wish you a brave New Year
All anguish, pain and sadness
Leave your heart and
Let your road be clear

They said there'll be snow at Christmas
They said there'll be peace on Earth
Hallelujah Noel, be it Heaven or Hell
The Christmas you get, you deserve

When A Child Is Born

written by: Dario Balban Bembo / Zacar / Alberto Salerno / Maurizio Seimandi / Francesco Specchia

When a Child is Born (Soleado) is a song of 1976 by Johnny Mathis written by Fred Jay. The original melody was Soleado, a melody of 1974 by Ciro Dammico, alias Zacar, composer of the Italian group Daniel Santecruz Ensemble.

In 1974, the melody was sung with a Spanish lyrics by Manolo Otero, "Todo el tiempo del mundo" (I've All the Time for Waiting), and with a German lyrics by Michael Holm,"Tränen lügen nicht" (Tears Don't Lie). The Michael Holm version, performed in English, was a minor hit in the US, reaching #53 on Billboard's Hot 100, #7 on Billboard's Easy Listening Top 50. In 1975 it was sung with a French lyrics, written by Henri Dijan, by Mireille Mathieu "On ne vit pas sans se dire adieu" (We Do not Live Without Saying Goodbye to Each Other") and with a Hungarian lyrics by Zsuzsa Cserháti "Édes kisfiam" (My dear Son), who wrote the lyrics after her son was born. These songs aren't Christmas songs.

You can listen to the various versions of this song below.

From Amazon.co.uk

from Amazon.com

A ray of hope flickers in the sky
A tiny star lights up way up high
All across the land
Dawns a brand new morn
This comes to pass
When a child is born

A silent wish sails the seven seas
The winds of change
Whisper in the trees
And the walls of doubt crumble
Tossed and torn
This comes to pass
When a child is born

A rosy hue settles all around
You've got the feel
You're on solid ground
For a spell or two
No one seems forlorn
This comes to pass
When a child is born

It's all a dream, an illusion now
It must come true
Sometime soon, somehow
All across the land
Dawns a brand new morn
This comes to pass
When a child is born

Carpe Diem - Galileo - two voices in one soul

Carpe Diem
Carpe Diem
This moment in its glory
And its pain
Is a heartbeat caught in time

Seize the day
Seize the day
Blazing across the endless wasted land
Shedding light of eternity

Come embrace the day
We will never pass
This way again
Never see this morning
Never again this dawning of the sun

Come embrace the day
We will never pass
This way again
Never see this dawn
Never again this dawning of the sun

Feeble though we are
Fleeting breath of life
Touch immortality
Tempus fugit

Carpe Diem
Carpe Diem
This moment in its glory
And its pain
Is a heartbeat caught in time

Happy Christmas (War Is Over)

written by: John Lennon / Yoko Ono

LISTENHappy Christmas (War Is Over)

So this is Christmas, and what have you done
Another year over, a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one, the old and the young

A very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one, without any fear

And so this is Christmas, for weak and for strong
For rich and for poor ones, the world is so wrong

And so happy Christmas, for black and for white
For yellow and red ones, let's stop all the fight

And so this is Christmas, and a Happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one, without any fear

And this is Christmas, and what have you done
Another year over, a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one, the old and the young

A very Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one, without any fear

War is over If you want it War is over, now ...

First of May

written by Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb

Written and recorded y the Bee Gees and appears on their 1969 album Odessa.

Sarah first of all sang this at Christmas In Vienna, it then was a bonus track on her eden single, and Sarah sang this at her One Night In Eden concerts.

LISTENFirst of May

When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall,
we used to love while others used to play.
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by,
someone else moved in from far away.

Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small,
and you don't ask the time of day.
But you and I, our love will never die,
but guess who'll cry come first of May.

The apple tree that grew for you and me,
I watched the apples falling one by one.
And as I recall the moment of them all,
the day I kissed your cheek and you were gone.

Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small,
and you don't ask the time of day.
But you and I, our love will never die,
but guess who'll cry come first of May.

When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall,
do do do do do do do do do ...
Don't ask me why, but time has passed us by,
someone else moved in from far away.

Music and lyrics: traditional

 LISTENHe Moved Through the Fair

My young love said to me
My mother won't mind
And my father won't slight you
For your lack of kind
And he went away from me
And this he did say
It will not be long now
Till our wedding day
It will not be long now
Till our wedding day
It will not be long now
Till our wedding day
