In Hall A, we have held a number of duo concerts by prominent opera singers in the past, including Cavalier and Dovorski, Carreras and Balza, and Alanya and Georgiu. But on June 5th, the world's greatest tenor Placido Domingo teamed up with world-renowned singer Sarah Brightman for a dream concert between two great stars. The Hall was filled to the rafters with fans from all over the country. The curtain finally came down amid wild scenes, including an incredible five encores. But the biggest impression was to come after the concert had ended. Placido appeared on the stage while it was being cleared. After testing the acoustics of the Hall with his voice, he was heard to declare "Beautiful acoustics!". The day when the world's greatest tenor will once again grace Hall A with his dulcet tones may not be far away at all.
