Probably on Thursday

written by Music: Andrew Lloyd Webber  Lyrics: Tim Rice

info taken from http://thefly.sarah-brightman.net/ProbablyOnThursday.html

"Probably On Thursday" was originally recorded in 1967 by a singer named Ross Hannaman.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote this song and it was the b-side of her single "1969".

Sarah recorded her version as a demo in Paris in 1989.  Sarah's version has a slightly different melody and some additional lyrics that were written by Tim Rice.

An original copy of the Ross Hannaman single is incredibly rare, but her songs have been re-issued on the Tim Rice CD "That's My Story." links below

Can you see all of me?

I am hiding nothing

Must you stay so far away?

Won’t you whisper something?

Your going to leave me

You don’t have to tell me

You don’t have to tell me

You’ll be unfaithful

Probably on Thursday

Probably on Thursday

Every day every night

Makes the same impression

All I need and all I want

Is a true confession

Each silent moment

Tells me the story

Tells me the story

You’ll be unfaithful

Probably on Thursday

Probably on Thursday

I’ve spent all my precious time

Hoping you will love me

You are trying hard to find

Ways to get rid of me

You’ll never listen

You want to hurt me

You want to hurt me

You’ll be unfaithful

Possibly on Wednesday

Probably on Thursday

Probably on Thursday

Your going to leave me

You don’t have to tell me

You don’t have to tell me

Your going to leave me

Possibly on Wednesday

Probably on Thursday

Probably on Thursday

Possibly on Wednesday

Probably on Thursday

Probably on Thursday

Probably on Thursday

Probably on Thursday

The Perfect Year

written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black and  Christopher Hampton, from the show Sunset Boulevard, based the the film of the same name.

Sarah never starred in Sunset Boulevard, but has recorded three songs from the music - Surrender, Guardami (With One Look - Italian version) and The Perfect Year for various Lloyd Webber albums.

Ring out the old, bring in the new
A midnight wish to share with you
Your lips are warm, my head is light,
Were we alive before tonight?

I don't need a crowded ballroom,

everything I want is here
If you're with me, next year

will be the perfect year

No need to hear the music play

Our eyes say all there is to say

The clock has struck

The die is cast, let take a chance

forget the past

I don't need a crowded ballroom,

everything I want is here
If you're with me, next year

will be the perfect year

I don't need a crowded ballroom,

everything I want is here
If you're with me, next year

will be the perfect year

It's New Year's Eve, and hope are high
Dance one year in, kiss one good-bye
Another chance, another start
So many dreams to tease the heart.

We don't need a crowded ballroom,
Everything we want is here
And face to face, we will embrace,

the perfect year

We don't need a crowded ballroom,

everything we want is here
And face to face,

we will embrace, the perfect year

Only You

written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Richard Stilgoe & Don Black from the show Starlight Express.

Cliff Only you Have the power to move me

And together we'll make

The whole world move in sympathy

But I could not see before

Sarah Only you Have the power to move me

Both Take me, hold me, mould me

Change me and improve me

Cliff It's not funny anymore. There was I

Sarah There was I

Cliff

Wondering why

Sarah I was wondering why

Cliff Every day

Both Disappeared into the distance

Sarah Now with you The light is shining through

Both You gave me life not just existence

Cliff Only you

Sarah You are the starlight

Cliff Have the power to move me

Both And together we'll make

The whole world move in sympathy

Cliff Only you, Have the power to move me

Sarah Move me  There was I

Cliff  There was I

Sarah  Wondering why

Cliff  Wondering why

Both  Every day disappeared into the distance

Now with you  The light is shining through

You gave me life not just existence

Sarah  Only you

Cliff  Only you

Both  Have the power to move me

And together we'll make

The whole world move in sympathy

Sarah  But I could not see before

Cliff  I couldn't see it before

Sarah  That only you

Both  Have the power to move me

Take me, hold me, mould me

Change me and improve me

Sarah  Only you

Cliff  Only you,

Sarah  Have the power

Both  To move me

Seeing Is Believing

written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black & Charles Hart

taken from the musical Aspects of Love - originally sung by Michael Ball in the role of Alex Dillingham

Seeing is Believing and Sarah reprising her role as Rose Vibert.

Sarah did star in Aspects of Love both in America and in the West End.

Michael Ball Seeing is believing,
And in my arms I see her:
She's here,
Really here,
Really mine now --
She seems at home here...

Seeing is believing,
I dreamt that it would be her:
At last
Life is full,
Life is fine now...

Whatever happens,
One thing is certain:
Each time I see
A train go by,
I'll think of us,
The night, the sky
Forever..

Seeing is believing,

Who knows where this is going

Who care it's enough simply knowing

I'm going with you

Sarah Seeing is believing

I never thought I'd be here

He's young, very young,
But appealing --
I feel I know him...

Seeing is believing
And I like what I see here.
I like Where I am, What I'm feeling...

What are we doing?
Can you believe it?
A starving actress and A star-struck boy --
Oh well, we might As well enjoy
The moment...

seeing is believing

And everything is saying

it's real it's no game that we're playing

We staying in love

Michael Ball Can you believe it? Seeing is Believing
Sarah
and I like what I see here

Michael I like where I am what I'm feeling

Sarah whatever happens we have this moment

who needs tomorrow when we have today?

Michael Tonight the music might just play forever

BOTH Seeing is believing!
My life is just beginning!
We touched,
And my head
Won't stop spinning,
From winning
Your love!

Too Much In Love To Care

written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black and  Christopher Hampton, from the show Sunset Boulevard, based the the film of the same name.

Sarah never starred in Sunset Boulevard, but has recorded three songs from the music - Surrender, Guardami (With One Look - Italian version) and The Perfect Year for various Lloyd Webber albums.

Sarah sings here with the gorgeous and talented John Barrowman, who did star in Sunset Boulevard both in America and the West End.

Sarah When I was a kid, I played on this street
I always loved illusion
I thought make-believe was truer than life
But now it's all confusion
Please, can you tell me what's happening?
I just don't know anymore
If this is real, how should I feel?
What should I look for?

John Barrowman If you were smart, you would keep on walking
Out of my life as fast as you can
I'm not the one you should pin your hopes on
You're falling for the wrong kind of man
This is crazy! You know we should call it a day
Sound advice, great advice
Let's throw it away
I can't control all the things I'm feeling
I haven't got a prayer
If I'm a fool, well
I'm too much in love to care
I knew where I was, I'd given up hope
Made friends with disillusion
No one in my life, but I look at you
And now it's all confusion

Sarah Please, can you tell me what's happening?
I just don't know anymore
If this is real, how should I feel?
What should I look for?
I thought I had everything I needed
My life was set, my dreams were in place
My heart could see way into the future
All of that goes when I see your face
I should hate you
There I was, the world in my hand
Can one kiss, kiss away
Everything I planned?
I can't control all the things I'm feeling
I'm floating in mid-air
I know it's wrong, but,
I'm too much in love to care

John Barrowman & Sarah I thought I had everything I needed
My life was set, my dreams were in place
My heart could see way into the future
All of that goes when I see your face
This is crazy! You know we should call it a day

John Barrowman Sound advice

Sarah Great advice

John Barrowman & Sarah
Let's throw it away...
I can't control all the things I'm feeling
We're floating in mid-air
If we are fools, well,
We're too much in love to care
If we are fools, well,
We're too much in love to care!

Make Up My Heart

written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Richard Stilgoe & Don Black from the show Starlight Express.

This song was sung by Pearl the observation car.

Sarah never appeared in Starlight Express and recorded both this song and Only You with Cliff Richard for Andrew Lloyd Webber albums only.

Its time I chose between the two of them,

I'd better make a start.

Someone help me make up my heart

Tell me how to make up my heart.

You'd think two lovers would be twice the fun.
It's tearing me apart.

Someone help me make up my heart.
Tell me how to make up my heart.

One of them is strong, one of them is good,

but both could turn out wrong.
So who gets the part?
Make up my mind, make up my heart.

I don't want one to win and one to lose.
Can't tell them yes or no.
Choosing one means letting one go.
Can't face letting one of them go.

You'd think two lovers would be twice the fun,

It's tearing me apart.
Someone help me make up my heart.

One can make me laugh One can make me sigh
Why tear myself in half?  So who gets the part?
Make up my mind make up my heart.

I don't want one to win and one to lose.
Can't tell them yes or no.
Choosing one means letting one go.
Can't face letting one of them go

It's time I chose between the two of them.
I'd better make a start.
Someone help me make up my heart.

Tell me how to make up my heart.

Please someone help me make up my heart.
Tell me how to make up my heart.

Whistle Down the Wind

written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman from the show Whistle down the wind, taken from the film of the same name.

Sarah never starred in this musical, but did sing this song with Andrew on piano at her Royal Albert Hall Timeless concert, which was released on video and DVD, and later on CD,

Whistle down the wind,

Let your voices carry,

Drown out all the rain,

Light a patch of darkness,

Treacherous and scary.

Howl at the stars,

Whisper when you’re sleeping

I’ll be there to hold you,

I’ll be there to stop,

The chills and all the weeping.

Make it clear and strong,

So the whole night long,

Every signal that you send,

Until the very end

I will not abandon,

You my precious friend.

So, try and stem the tide,

Then you’ll raise a banner,

Send a flare up in the sky,

Try to burn a torch,

And try to build a bonfire,

Every signal that you send,

Until the very end, I’m there.

So whistle down the wind,

For I have always been right there.

Howl at the stars,

Whisper when you’re sleeping

I’ll be there to hold you,

I’ll be there to stop,

The chills and all the weeping.

Make it clear and strong,

So the whole night long,

Every signal that you send,

Until the very end

I will not abandon,

You my precious friend.

So whistle down the wind,

Let your voices carry,

Drown out all the rain,

Light a patch of darkness,

Treacherous and scary.

Every signal that you send,

Until the very end, I’m there.

So whistle down the wind,

For I have always been right there.
