Synopsis
This is a movie which fuses the stately grandeur of Gosford Park with the magical music of Amadeus for a unique story of love’s fluctuating fortunes, set against a sumptuous backdrop of visual and vocal beauty. As the cast, drama and score all tread the tightrope of tone between humour and pathos, what unfolds is a timeless romantic comedy.

Adam is a rich industrialist, who aspires to a more cultured world. Spurred on by playful jibes that he’s little more than a city suit living the capitalist’s dream, this frustrated amateur opera singer decides to throw an opera in his lavish country retreat. Once his friends see him belting out the notes, he feels sure it will spell the end to their shallow taunts. In fact, it might even help him win the hand of a female conductor he’s been pursuing whom – it just so happens – is the first to be recruited for his showpiece.

A troupe of sexy young singers are garnered and the stage is set for a night all will remember.

Director – Chris Menaul
Chris Menaul is a BAFTA award-winning TV and film director. His many credits include: Secret Smile (2005) starring Kate Ashfield and David Tennant; Wall of Silence (2004) starring James Nesbitt; The Forsyte Saga (2002) starring Damien Lewis and Gina McKee; The Passion of Ayn Rand (1999) starring Julie Delpy and Eric Stoltz; Feast of July (1995) starring Embeth Davidtz and Ben Chaplin; Fatherland (1994) starring Miranda Richardson; and the original series of Prime Suspect starring Helen Mirren (1991).

Producer – Stephen Evans
Stephen is a highly respected UK film producer of 14 feature films, which have received 11 Academy Award nominations including 2 wins.

In 1989, he teamed up with Kenneth Branagh and founded Renaissance Films. The pair made the acclaimed movies Henry V, Peter’s Friends and Much Ado About Nothing.

From 1994, Stephen took sole charge of Renaissance and cemented his position at the forefront of UK film production with a string of critically and financially successful hits, including The Madness of King George, Wings of the Dove and The Luzhin Defence.

Most recently, Stephen has executive produced Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (directed by George Clooney starring Julia Roberts and Drew Barrymore), and The Mother (directed by Roger Michell, with Daniel Craig, Director’s Fortnight 2003). In 2002 he set up Scorpio Films and executive produced Dear Frankie (starring Emily Mortimer and Gerard Butler).
